Tmou k sobě is a smaller facility in the village of Staré Smrkovice between Hořice and Jičín, with three dark retreat rooms in a house with a garden. Each room has its own shower and toilet; two are fully panelled in wood, the third, Jeskyně, is newer, larger and darker.
It is run by guide Klementina Gáspárová, who brings a basket of food for the whole day every morning and talks with the guest on request, otherwise respecting their silence. The rooms are made with attention to detail, with wooden dishes, underfloor heating and ventilation controlled from outside. Only individuals are accepted for the darkness; those who do not want darkness can spend a quiet stay here in the light, in Jeskyně even as a couple. The approach is more caring than therapeutic. By arrangement, guests can be picked up from the train in Ohnišťany or Chlumec nad Cidlinou or from the bus in Hořice or Jičín.
