What is a dark retreat?

A dark retreat is an ancient Tibetan Buddhist method called „Yangtik„, practised by monks in Tibet who stayed in the dark for up to seven weeks. During a dark retreat, visual deprivation turns a person’s attention inwards, into themselves, and so leads them to deeper self-knowledge and greater self-confidence.

The aim of the pobytvetmě project:

To make the principles of dark retreats (darkness therapy) accessible to the general public, not only through publications but also in a purely practical form, letting the public choose from darkness therapy centres.
