Brdské slunce is a family-run centre of the Polák couple in Ohrazenice near Jince, in the last house of the village on the edge of the Brdy forests. Besides dark retreats, it offers kinesiology, constellations and art courses. Since 2019 the dark retreat has taken place in a separate insulated wooden cabin in the garden next to the operators‘ house, not far from a stream. The cabin has its own bathroom and enough space for exercise (wall bars, mat).
The guide, Milan Polák, holds an introductory conversation with the guest, does the cooking himself and brings food once a day. Unlike places where the host only delivers meals, he offers conversation during his visits and help with whatever opens up in the dark; the website’s vocabulary is rather spiritual. The recommended diet is vegetarian, and on request vegan or with fish and poultry. There is no public transport to Ohrazenice; the operators pick guests up in Jince. Suitable for those who want a longer retreat with ongoing accompaniment.
